Questions have been asked about the Call of Duty: Vanguard file size. Will it require you to delete great swathes of content from your hard drive? Is it like trying to make room for a killer whale to sit next to you on an economy flight? Or has Vanguard managed to keep its demands down? We know Call of Duty games have a reputation for being chunky. Black Ops, for example was 125GB on PC for the full game with "ultra" graphics settings. The fulle version of Modern Warfare was an even more gargantuan 175GB. So just how many GB is COD: Vanguard? Let's find out.
How Many GB Is COD Vanguard?
The good news is that the Call of Duty: Vanguard file is a much more streamlined download than the other two games we referenced. There is some variation depending upon what ahrdware you are using. But the key infor is as follows:
- PlayStation 5: 64.13 GB Download | 89.84 GB Required Space
- Xbox Series X|S: 61 GB Download | 61 GB Required Space
- PlayStation 4: 54.65 GB Download | 93.12 GB Required Space
- Xbox One: 56.6 GB Download | 56.6 GB Required Space
- PC: 36 GB at launch (Multiplayer and Zombies only) | 61 GB for 4K
So still sizable, but not outrageous compared to other games that have been optimized for the new generation of consoles. But is there anything you can do if you really don't want to take up so much of your available storage?
Reducing Call of Duty Vanguard File Size
If you want to minimise the size of the Vanguard download, then you do have the option of specifying whether or not you want to download both the multiplayer and the campaign modes. While, much like in previous games, you must install the multiplayer, the campaign mode can be uninstalled, freeing up a chunk of valuable SSD space.
