Disney wants to capitalise on Star Wars: The Old Republic nostalgia
Reported by reliable news source Star Wars News Net, Disney is attempting to restore faith in Star Wars movies. While many were upset by the end of the sequel trilogy, reverting to an even earlier timeline would give writers more freedom
The unannounced movie will be tied to the established universe of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Set during the rise of the Jedi religion, the movie would give moviegoers a fresh look into the iconic universe.
Allegedly, Star Wars: The Old Republic will start filming next year on a fast production schedule. Reportedly, the movie will take over the planned release date of Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron film. As a result, Rogue Squadron will now release in 2024 following a major rewrite.
